There is plenty of world-class walking straight from the door.
Wye Valley Canoes  will set you up for a day on the River Wye from nearby Glasbury.
In Hay, Drover's Bikes will sort you out with bike hire, maps, pick-ups, and even electric bikes which are perfect for this hilly terrain!
If you fancy horse-riding, we also run a trail riding centre at Transwales Trails just three miles away and we can organise day rides from The Blaenau to suit your schedule - just ask us.
If all of the above sounds a little energetic, or you just need a morning off, then wander around the Mill at Talgarth (guided tours every hour), or head to Hay for a potter around the many second-hand bookshops there.
There's also a Twizy electric car available for day hire down at the Mill in Talgarth. This is a great day out exploring the local area for 1 or 2 people as long as the weather is nice - there are no windows in the car!
Evening entertainment is not why most people come to Talgarth, but the cinema at Booth’s Bookshop in Hay is brilliant - it’s tiny, with massive leather seats and a bar so you can enjoy a glass of wine or real ale with your film! There is also a regular cinema in Brecon which isn’t far away. Occasionally in Talgarth itself there are film screenings at the Village Hall, and there is now a fantastic acoustic music venue at the Tabernacle, so it is well worth checking out their schedule if that’s your kind of thing.
